Fun Fact: The sense of smell is the most emotionally connected sense, due to its location in the limbic system (the part of the brain that affects behaviors, motivation, emotions, and memories).

I caught you in the breeze today
The scent of cologne and cigarettes
Wrapped around my senses
Grasping every thought to you
Flashes of memories
Waiting at the airport
Watching you smoke
Like the first time I saw you
The way you led me
Down busy Dublin streets
One hand firmly guiding
The other belonged to your habit
The crowded pubs
Where no one existed but ourselves
Drinking, smoking, sinning
To soothe the lust on our minds
And the aroma of you
Wafting in the August night
As I breathed you in
Filling every sense in me
The sweet of you finally on my tongue
The heat of you burning my skin
Embers glowing in the ashtray
As we lit the darkness on fire
